
The Cape Milner Hotel, a distinguished 4-star property in Cape Town, is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Housekeeping General Attendant to join its exceptional team. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the highest standards of cleanliness and presentation throughout the hotel, including guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house spaces. Duties will include cleaning, laundering, replenishing amenities, and maintaining housekeeping equipment and supplies. The role also requires flexibility to work shifts and provide evening turndown services when needed.

Requirements, Duties & Responsibilities
- Proven experience in housekeeping or room cleaning within a 4-star property or similar environment.
- Responsible for cleaning guest rooms, public areas, and working in the laundry, including providing turndown service.
- Must be able to work shifts (early and late).
- Maintain high standards of safety, hygiene, and personal presentation.
- Strong attention to detail is essential.
- Must reside within or have access to a reliable transport route.
Main Duties (Include but are not limited to):
- Clean all guest rooms to the hotel’s quality standards.
- Maintain cleanliness of public areas and the gym.
- Work in the laundry, washing and ironing linen, towels, and guest clothing as required.
- Provide evening turndown service as scheduled.
- Safely handle and maintain cleaning chemicals and equipment.
- Assist in other hotel areas when required.
- Report maintenance issues in guest rooms and public areas to the Floor Supervisor or Executive Housekeeper.
- Maintain, stock, and organize housekeeping trolleys, ensuring efficient use and no wastage of supplies.
Salary
Market Related
- 5% Provident Fund – included as part of the CTC package (compulsory membership).
- Medical aid is available for individual employees. The company contributes 50% of the employee’s membership cost, limited to the Classic Saver or lower options on Discovery (voluntary membership).
- Final remuneration details will be discussed during the interview or upon individual request.
- Meals are provided while on duty.
