A luxury lodge situated in Bela Bela, Limpopo is in search of a skilled Mixologist with at least 2 to 3 years of experience in a Luxury Lodge/Hotel/Restaurant setting. A mixologist specializes in the art and craft of crafting and combining cocktails and other mixed beverages, typically placing a strong focus on innovation and flavor profiles. They possess the expertise to experiment with various ingredients, techniques, and flavor combinations to create new and intriguing drink recipes. While bartenders mainly serve drinks, mixologists typically dedicate more time to developing fresh recipes and menus.
An essential part of the Food & Beverage team, the Mixologist’s duties include, but are not restricted to:
- Drink crafting: Create a diverse range of cocktails and beverages, showcasing creativity and expertise in combining various spirits, mixers, and garnishes.
- Recipe knowledge: Possesses in-depth knowledge of cocktail recipes, allowing for the preparation of classic favourites and signature drinks.
- Customer service excellence: Engage with patrons in a friendly and attentive manner, providing recommendations, taking orders, and ensuring an enjoyable experience.
- Bar entertainment: Provide entertainment through flair bartending, showcasing skills such as juggling, bottle flipping, and other crowd-pleasing tricks.
- Inventory management: Monitor and manage bar inventory, restocking supplies, and ordering ingredients to prevent shortages.
- Equipment maintenance: Ensure the proper functioning and cleanliness of bar equipment, including shakers, blenders, and glassware. Minimise costs by carefully handling breakages in bar areas.
- Specialty drink creation: Contribute to the development of drink menus, suggesting new and innovative cocktails to enhance the bar’s offerings.
- Pricing strategy: Collaborate with management to set competitive pricing for drinks, considering factors such as ingredient costs and market trends.
- Responsible service: Adhere to responsible service guidelines, monitoring patrons’ alcohol consumption, and preventing overconsumption.
- Conflict resolution: Handle customer disputes or unruly behaviour diplomatically and professionally, maintaining a safe and enjoyable environment.
- Team communication: Work collaboratively with other staff members, including servers, kitchen staff, and management, to ensure seamless operations.
- Assist in other areas: Provide support in other areas during peak hours, including serving tables or helping with cleaning tasks.
- Special events: Contribute to the planning and execution of special events, themed nights, and promotions to attract and entertain customers.
- Event promotion: Assist in promoting events to increase revenues.
- Adherence to company policies, including those concerning wastage.
- Operate within the guidelines, procedures and regulations of the Company, including but not restricted to maintaining the bar areas, back of house areas, equipment, managing inventory.
Requirements
- Self-disciplined, punctual and respectful.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for international guests with diverse cultures. Must have an outgoing hosting personality.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for staff, being respectful of their culture. A basic knowledge an African language is recommended.
- Sufficient qualifications or experience to perform the job role.
- Good command of the English language.
- Flexibility to work longer hours as per business demand.
- Be courteous, and professional and provide efficient service.

- Have sound knowledge of spirits, beers, wine, cocktails, coffee and speciality coffee.
- Ability to work under pressure.
- Service of food and beverages must be in accordance with hygienic standards which must be adhered to in accordance with the SOP and general good hygienic practices.
Education and Experience
- A minimum of 2-3 years work experience as a mixologist in a Luxury Lodge/Hotel/Restaurant environment
- A valid South African ID
- Matric Certificate
- Relevant qualification to perform the job role.

Salary
The Salary Offer will be discussed on a request basis and will be dependent on experience and qualifications. The package includes a Provident fund of which the company contributes 5%.
Live In Position & Meals provided on duty.
