Marketing hospitality stories rooted in place

A city hotel at dusk and a lodge at first light tell different stories. Hospitality marketing starts with noticing what makes each place recognisable.

Start with the real story

A photograph of the view from Angels View can tell a traveller something a list of amenities cannot. The words alongside it still need to be precise about the property, the experience and who it suits.

For a portfolio or interview, choose examples where you shaped a message for a particular audience. Explain the source material you used, the decisions you made and how you checked names, location details and practical information. If your strength is photography, writing, design, digital publishing or campaign coordination, show how it supports the traveller’s understanding and next step.

Accuracy is part of the creative work

Destination content can influence real travel decisions. Make the setting inviting while staying precise about what is included, where a property is and what guests can do there. Conservation and local context deserve careful, respectful treatment. Good collaboration also matters: property teams and central functions may each hold details that need checking before publication.
